THE SPARK
Where the idea began
It didn't start as a business idea. It started as a conversation.
"Why isn't this easier?"
"There should be a better way."
One sketch turned into five. Five turned into printers running overnight. And slowly, Clingy began to take shape.
THE BUILD
Engineering the final version.
Version one broke on the second use. Version twelve wouldn't fit most bags. Version thirty-seven felt cheap.
This wasn't about rushing a product to market. It was about finding the version worth making.

Two friends. One idea. And a universal frustration we couldn't ignore. Everywhere we went; airports, cafés, restaurants, parks, our bags kept ending up on dirty floors. It was annoying, inconvenient, and honestly… kinda gross. We wanted something small. Something clean. Something that actually stayed WITH our bag, not another item to dig around for. So we built it, a product that helped us Hold On To What Matters.

From Colombia, raised in the States, Alejandro brings a mix of curiosity and precision to everything he touches. A civil engineer from the University of Florida, he spends his days designing stormwater systems-solving real problems with elegant, engineered solutions.
Outside of work, you'll find him on a soccer field, deep in a chess match, or catching stand-up comedy. That same energy-strategic, playful, relentlessly optimistic-fuels his role at Clingy.
For Alejandro, Clingy isn't just about keeping bags off the floor. It's about creating something that helps people hold on to what matters.

Founder / Chief of Sanity Operations
Born in Colombia, raised in Orlando, and built for adventure. With a background in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and stints at Boeing, L3Harris, and Northrop Grumman, Cesar brings structure to the madness (and keeps Clingy from catching fire).
When he’s not engineering the next big thing, you’ll find him racking up passport stamps in 41 countries and counting or chasing his next challenge.

Why "Hold on to what matters" means so much to us
Clingy started as two friends - Alejandro and Cesar - trying to solve a simple, annoying problem: why are our bags always on the floor? But as we kept building, it became about more than clean straps and dry laptops.
We both grew up watching our families work hard, stretch every dollar, and take care of the people they love. For us, "Hold on to what matters" isn't a catchy tagline - it's the way we want to live. Your bag isn't just an accessory; it's everything you carry through your day: your work, your snacks, your medicine, your memories.
